Director, Director of Photography
Founder of Interpret Studios, Matt is a prominent award-winning director and cinematographer, creating inventive and diverse films, commercials, television shows and branded content. He made a name for himself by developing story driven cinematic film and television in the action sports world, which brought him into the realm of directing feature length documentaries. Soon after the change, Matt was awarded the Grand Prize of Panasonic’s International Film Competition for “Moving On”, then two years later won the 45th Annual Dove Awards Movie of the Year for "Fading West", as well as numerous film festival awards and nominations for his other documentaries. He made the jump to commercials and brand integrated content 7 years ago and has worked as both director and director of photography on national ad campaigns and branding campaigns for Red Bull Media House, Nike, Universal, as well as numerous ad agencies and mainstream artists.
It’s Matt’s refined ability to show genre diversity, moving effortlessly from storytelling to music-driven visual concepts and humor, that makes him a highly sought after talent among clients. He remains focused on keeping Interpret a leader in cinematic storytelling. On his off days, he’s not afraid of getting beat at tennis by his wife Jennifer, both graduates of Stetson University, or dividing his time between bow hunting, fishing, and surfing.
